Some errors with SOLIDWORKS Connected are best resolved by performing a clean uninstallation and reinstallation. This guide will walk through the steps required to perform a clean uninstall of SOLIDWORKS Connected.
lean Uninstall Process
This process requires modifying the registry, so if you are not comfortable with doing so, or you do not have permissions, contact your IT.
- Right-click the Windows Start menu and select Apps and Features or Installed Apps. (You can also access the installed apps list via Windows Settings.)
- Uninstall Dassault Systems SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R20XXx version.
- In no particular order, uninstall:
- 3DEXPERIENCE Launcher
- CEF for SOLIDWORKS Applications (new with R2023x)
- Dassault Systemes Software VC10 Prerequisites x86-x64
- Dassault Systemes Software VC11 Prerequisites x86-x64
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x64)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (x86)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x64)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable (x86)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64)
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86)
- Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2019
- WPTx64
- Visual Basic (VBA) 7.1

- Download the attachment SOLIDWORKS Connected Uninstall_vba.txt
- To convert this into a batch file, open up the .txt in notepad and use Save As and call it UninstallVBA.bat. You just type in the .bat part.
- Right click the batch file and select Run as administrator.

CAUTION: If you see other versions of Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable or Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications, then the recommendation is to NOT uninstall them.
Delete the following folders:
Since the folders are in various locations throughout Windows, and some folders may be hidden depending on your File Explorer options, we have provided the paths with the root enclosed in variable percent symbols (%) to quickly navigate to the root of the path. Simply copy the full path provided in these instructions and paste in into the address bar of Windows File Explorer and press enter to navigate to each location. Then, in the File Explorer’s address bar, click the folder name to move up to the parent directory and delete the specified folder.

Delete the following registry keys – Windows administrative rights are required:

The SOLIDWORKS Technical Support team strongly suggests that you back up the registry data before making any changes to the registry. If you are unfamiliar with the registry, please work with your IT group to make these changes.
