A quick article that describes how to fix the problem of Bookmarks not appearing to everyone
A few of our customers have encountered this particular issue while trying to set up their Platform. One user creates a Bookmark that is meant to be shared publicly by everyone with access, but nobody else on the Platform is able to see the Bookmark in question. Thankfully, this is easily resolved, as long as you are an Administrator on the Platform you wish to fix.
Making An Already - Existing Bookmark Visible
Bookmarks with a Maturity State of Draft are, generally, only visible to the person who created them. To make them visible to everyone else, we have to move them to the In Work Maturity State instead.
1) Open Bookmark Editor and click on the Preferences gear in the upper right hand corner.
2) In the Credentials Dropdown, select Administrator, then click Save in the lower right hand corner.
3) Back in Bookmark Editor, Click on the Draft icon under the Maturity State column.
4) Click on Set to In Work
5) Once you are done changing all the Bookmarks, switch your Credentials back to Common Space - Author or something similar, and click Save once again. Administrator credentials are very powerful, and are sort of built to break the systems that keep things on your platform orderly. It's dangerous to keep them for any longer than necessary, so we strongly recommend switching back to a more appropriate Credential level when you are done needing it.
To Make Future Bookmarks Publicly Visible:
It's a bit of a hassle to have to go in and correct every single bookmark you ever make. Which is why they added a setting to make it so that all future Bookmarks start as In Work by default. Here's how to make that happen:
1) Open the Compass Menu
2) Go to the Platform Management Cockpit
3) Within Platform Management, click on the Content Tab
4) Scroll down to Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center. (It's the third Widget down by default.) It's usually easiest to Full-Screen this window with the icon in the upper right corner.
5) Click on the Bookmark Feature in the leftmost column within the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center.
6) Turn "When creating a Bookmark, set the maturity state to In Work" ON
Now, all future Bookmarks will be created In Work from the start, and you won't have to worry about whether or not folks can see them again.
