As you may know, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a powerful internet based tool that houses many Dassault software packages such as SolidWorks, CATIA, SIMULIA, and ENOVIA.
What most would think of as the standard, run-of-the mill 3DEXPERIENCE platform (commercial 3DEXPERIENCE) is actually designed to specifically cater to the needs of businesses to help them innovate and develop products and services. But did you know there is an Educational platform?
The 3DEXPERIENCE Educational Platform or "educational 3DEXPERIENCE" was designed specifically for educational institutions and optimized for student use.
While many features are the same between commercial and educational 3DEXPERIENCE, there is one major difference, the URL.
The URL is the key to distinguishing between a commercial and educational platform and the difference between the two is pretty easy to spot.
Commercial 3DEXPERIENCE URL - https://us1-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/
Educational 3DEXPREIENCE URL - https://us1-academia-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/
These links will direct the user to either the commercial or educational branch of the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. However they are not interchangeable.
If you forget your tenant ID, don't worry, just follow one of the links above to get back to your platform. Just make sure you're accessing the right URL. While a school may have an active 3DEXPERIENCE tenant, it cannot be accessed through the commercial link since they are an educational institution.
So if you are having trouble logging onto your company or school's platform, make sure you are following the right URL!
