How To Set Up 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) For Your SOLIDWORKS Website Logins

With a change deployed in early July 2025, you will need to turn on 2FA to access certain websites.

If you are trying to access certain websites from SOLIDWORKS...

Such as "DSx Client and Care Order" or the "My Products" page, you will need to set up 2FA now. Information on this change can be found here: https://www.3ds.com/support/news/two-factor-authentication-2fa-dsxclient-starting-july-8th

Starting off, you will get this screen when attempting to log in.

Select the option that applies to you, in most cases, if you already have an account, you can just select "3DEXPERIENCE ID Account" located in the second paragraph and ignore the rest. If you have not set up an account yet, it will prompt you to set up 2FA on your account creation now.

Once you're on the account modification page, you will want to select "My Profile". At the moment, it doesn't quite look like a button but it's located here:

Once you have selected 2FA, it will bring you to the page to set it up. Here, you will select and answer some questions in case you ever get locked out of your account. Secondly, you will need to download and install an authenticator app.

While there are several varieties of authenticator apps, we recommend Google Authenticator. Below are their download links to their respective stores.

Once you set this up, it will walk you through the process from here. You will be prompted to scan a QR code, which will prompt the authenticator app to open. Once opened, it will provide a code back. You then insert the code into the website to verify. When entering this code, you can select "Remember this PC" to reduce the amount of times you must perform this. However, only perform this on a trusted device.

Once you are set up...

You will want to refresh the page to go back to the login. We have had some issues presenting with the cache and cookies. Once set up, you can clear your cache and cookies out of your browser. Then, attempt to log into the website you were trying to log into, and repeat the "2FA Login Process". You will check your authenticator app for the code.

Then, you should log in just fine from here on out.
