How to Restore the SOLIDWORKS File Utilities

Have you tried to use Pack and Go or Rename and noticed all the SOLIDWORKS options were missing from the right-click menu? This happens because the File Utilities are not installed or corrupt. We can fix that by modifying the installation options.

  1. Use Windows search to find Add or Remove Programs.
  2. Find SOLIDWORKS in the list and select the 3 dots on the right so you can choose Modify.
  3. Select the Modify my installation option then hit next. Then on the screen with the Serial number hit next again.
  4. Find the SOLIDWORKS file utilities on the Product Selection screen and check the box to enable it, then select next.
  5. Select Modify Now on the summary screen to complete the process.

If you found the SOLIDWORKS File Utilities was already selected on the Product Selection screen, the component may be corrupt and need to be uninstalled. First, deselect it from the Product Selection screen and continue until it completes. Repeat the process a second time and reselect the SolidWorks file utilities.
