This article outlines the procedure for replacing a touchscreen in the event of display or touch failure. This replacement is typically necessary only after extended use, although early failures may occur. The touchscreen is covered under the basic warranty.
Safety Precautions
- Power Down the Machine: Shut down the machine completely. Once the screen is off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the unit as an additional safety measure.
- Wait for Idle Light to Turn Off: Ensure all indicators are off before beginning hardware removal.
Removal Procedure
- Accessing the Mount: Use a 3 mm Allen wrench to remove the single bolt located on the top of the touchscreen mount. For additional workspace, open the oven or remove the top lid if applicable.
- Disconnecting the Touchscreen: Once the bolt is loosened, lift the screen gently. Carefully disconnect the two attached cables. Retain the mounting bolt for later use.
Installation Procedure
- Connecting the New Screen: Attach the cables to the replacement touchscreen. Handle the smaller ribbon cable with care. Ensure all pins are properly aligned and seated in their corresponding sockets. Avoid cable pinching or crimping during this step.
- Securing the Touchscreen: Reinsert the previously removed bolt. Close all panels and reconnect the power supply.
Calibration
- Access Touchscreen Calibration Tool: Power the machine on. Navigate to the calibration utility.
- Calibration Process: Run the touchscreen calibration twice. The first execution applies the calibration; the second ensures input accuracy and responsiveness.
Final Steps
Upon successful calibration, the machine is ready for normal operation.
