This is comprehensive guide to all of the ways you can access the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is a very useful tool for collaboration and coordination, but it's all but useless if you can't find it. Thankfully, there are quite a few different ways to access the Platform. In this article we'll go over several different methods to log on.
All of these methods require an email associated with your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. Knowing the password to said account will certainly help, but is not strictly required.
Direct Link
The most straightforward way to get to your platform is via solidworks.com/3dx. This is the easy-to-remember URL that should take you to the platform.
In case something about that link doesn't work, or something about your system really does not like redirected URLs, solidworks.com/3dx redirects to
https://us1-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/ when connecting to US Servers, or
https://eu1-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/ when connecting to EU servers. Even if it redirects to the wrong link, you should still be able to log into your platform just fine from there.
And, if you want the most direct URL approach, or you are trying to access a specific platform, use this URL instead:
https://r1234567890123-us1-ifwe.3dexperience.3ds.com/
But please note that you will have to replace the 13-digit string after the "r" with the Tenant ID of the platform you're trying to access. The one included here is, of course, not a real platform.
When you include the Tenant ID in the URL instead of letting it automatically redirect you with one of the above links, you'll be attempting to access a very specific Platform. Be careful with the Tenant ID you use. If you do not have access to that specific platform, you'll run into an Access Denied error:
Check your email
If your login email truly does have access to a 3DExperience Platform, you should have received an email informing you of the invite. This email should also have a link to the platform. The email should be from noreply@3dexperience.3ds.com with the title, "Invitation", and it will look like the screenshot below. (The blacked out sections are the icon and name of the person who invited you to the platform.) The link in the red box will take you to the Platform you were invited to.
If you are the Admin to a platform, and you have never access it before, you'll want to look for a different email. The Platform is Ready email below is the only way for you to get in if nobody has ever accessed your specific platform before. The first person to open the link boxed in red will become the Admin of the platform. But, once it's activated, this link should let you into the platform like normal. Or anyone else with access to that specific platform, for that matter. This email will instead come from the address DoNotReply.ag.license-keys@3ds.com with the title, "Your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform is ready"
Desktop Shortcut
If you've been to the platform before and installed SOLIDWORKS Connected, there's a good chance you may already have given yourself a Desktop Shortcut to launch SOLIDWORKS Connected. When opened, it will open a new browser tab that will connect to the Platform if one is not already open. So this is another way to access your Platform, if things are already in place.
3DX Task Pane
Though it does not grant complete access to the platform, you can often get a lot of what you need done through the 3DX Task Pane inside of SOLIDWORKS or SOLIDWORKS Connected.
Please note, SOLIDWORKS Connected must already be open for you to access the 3DX Task Pane.
