First, we will want to open the Control Panel on the server computer. To do this, go to the Start Menu, then start typing “Control Panel”. You should see this in the list to select.
Depending on how your settings are shown, you will either want to select Programs and Features (small icons), or Uninstall a program (category). Don’t worry! We won’t be uninstalling anything.
This will open up a list of all the programs and features installed on your computer. You will want to find the SOLIDWORKS SolidNetWork License Manager in the list, single left click to highlight the program, and then select the Change button.
This will open the Setup for the SNL Manager and you will want to click the Next button.
You want to modify the installation, so make sure that Modify is selected and click Next.
Your current serial numbers are listed in the next window. Add the new serial number to the list. Make sure you enter them separated by a comma, and then click Next.
You want to then select Install to start installing your new product.
Once the installation is complete you can click Finish.
You will need to reactivate the server to make the new license available to the client machines.
Launch the SolidWorks SolidNetwork License Manager from the Start Menu. Go to the Server Administration Tab, choose Modify, and then Activate/Reactite. Take note of the server name and port number. It should not have changed because you are using the same server.
There shouldn’t be any changes to the firewall settings, so click Next.
Select All products to activate. You will be asked if you want to update over the internet or through email. It is recommended that you choose automatically over the internet.
Once the process has completed, a dialog box will appear with the result Activation/Reactivation Succeeded. Click Finish.
